In this new work, Gaye Adegbalola gives us a real masterclass where she includes different faces, colors and aspects of the blues This is blues in all its facets and flavors, and each song is a true lesson of how to perform this music, how it should sound and how to combine different instruments to make them be credible and adapted to every song needs In Blues In All Flavors, Gaye has gathered fourteen tracks belonging to styles like Piedmont blues with some blues rock, jump blues filled with boogie-woogie, rock & roll, doo-woop, Delta blues played with slide, pure Piedmont and Chicago blues, funk in the path of James Brown, Bo Diddley’s blues, street rhythm & blues, New Orleans blues Ten of the fourteen cd songs have been written by Adegbalola who, besides singing and doubling all voices, also plays acoustic guitar, acoustic slide, harmonica and makes different rhythms with spoons and clapping hands Rudy Barnes backs her on piano, while Jeff Covert plays electric guitar, drums, bass, maracas, banjo and backing vocals too In fact this is a record focused in making children know and learn that blues music never is the same thing and can sound completely different, which, in fact, is a very good idea
