As so many black musicians in the South, singer Frank Bey began his musical career when he was a young boy, singing gospel along with his brother and a couple of his cousins in the choir of his local Church At seventeen he decided soul music was what he liked most, so he accepted a job that was offered to him as driver of singer Otis Redding They promised him he would open Otis’ shows singing a couple of tunes, but this never came true In other words, that part of the contract was sistematically unaccomplished On the other hand, Anthony Paule -the guitar player who backs Frank in this album-, has done two impressive recordings so far, Big Guitar’ and Hiding In Plain Sight, which have given him a certain popularity among blues fans Anyway, Anthony Paule has mostly worked as backing musician, touring and recording with artists like Mark Hummel, Charlie Musselwhite, Maria Muldaur, Johnny Adams, Boz Scaggs, Phil Guy, Bo Diddley among many others Frank, Anthony and his band have joined forces to make an album that undoubtedly will help them to consolidate the prestige of these two great musicians Now they have meet to combine their innate talent with an elegant good taste whis is perfectly reflected in a bunch of songs performed with great commitment and deep passion
