Born in Georgia, singer Frank Bey began singing gospel at the age of four Together with his brother and cousins formed the group The Rising Sons which played along the whole area When he was seventeen he and his band were booked as the opening act for the Otis Redding Revue, which gave him a great experience and stage control also developing his talents as a band leader In the early 70’s Frank founded a funk band named Moorish Vanguard, but serious problems with James Brown caused his good star turn off, so he left the music for seventeen years However, the call of music set fire back in his heart, which brought him on stage He has now releases a new recording, the sixth in his career The album includes eleven songs that are mainly nourished by blues, soul, some gospel and funk, although you can also find a little bit of Latin soul and even country like in the song He Loving Stopped Her Today The album features some amazing guests like Kid Andersen or Rick Estrin and his Nightcats, as well as a large group of great instrumentalists who bring their skills and bright musical colors to let Frank Bey’s vocal qualities be displayed with incredible warmth, sensitivity passion, to shine with a high quality level
