Born in France, guitar player and singer Franck L. Goldwasser, formerly known in the music world as Paris Slim, studied art, becoming interested for blues by listening and playing over Elmore James’, B.B. King’s and T-Bone Walker’s recordings. His first appearances on stage were with Sugar Blue who, at that time, lived in France. From that moment on, he started backing many of the bluesmen who visited France like Luther Allison, Jimmy Dawkins, George Smith, Phillip Walker or Sonny Rhodes. Following Sonny’s invitation, Franck traveled to California where he immersed himself in the blues, backing the greatest musicians of that area, as well as writing articles about the blues in California for the French magazine Soul Bag. Since 1983 he has settled in California where he has developed a successful career becoming one of the leading blues names in San Francisco Bay and West Coast areas.

He has recently released this album for CrossCut records which gathers fifteen songs, three of them instrumental, where Goldwasser shows all his blues knowledge he has gradually got along his professional career. Shuffles, swing, funky grooves, Piedmont, country blues and even some psychedelic blues are some of the styles he attacks with an undeniable reliability and good taste.

Franck Goldwasser is on vocals, guitar and harmonica, backed by some deluxe musicians like R.J. Mischo on harmonica in three songs, Charlie Musselwhite also on harmonica in one song, Kirk Fletcher on guitar, Sugaray Rayford on vocals and Jim Pugh on keyboards in the song “Who Needs This Mess!!??”, Ralph Carter on bass and Johnny Morgan on drums.
