After quite a long time, singer and guitarist Franc Robert has brought his band The Boxcar Tourist together again, with Joe Sadovski on harmonica, Sam Mudd on bass and Dave Simmonds on drums, to record the album we have now the opportunity to enjoy with The cd includes a good and wide variety of different musical shapes and styles, but always framed into the rules of the blues, which is developed in fourteen original songs The album opens with Goin’ Down To Florida a joyful charming and swingin’ shuffle, but this recording also includes other rhythms like the swampy songs A Night With The Blues and Devil’s At The Crossroads, the bluesy reggae of A Fool For Trying, the deep, dark and colourful cadence of Voodoo Stomp, the syncopated Delta rhythm of the song Poor Me Blues, the funky rockin’ blues of songs like The Worst We’d Ever Seen or Watch You Walk Away or even the delicious swing of Cheap Cadillac All these various rhythms and styles come from the personal vision, the knowledge and the interesting conception Franc and his band give to the blues Despite they are not really virtuoso musicians, all them put a lot of enthusiasm and passion in their work, something that always is really welcomed
