As the name suggests, Forest Lake Band come from Finland, a country with immense forests and countless lakes. Surrounded by those inspiring landscapes, the band develops a very personal kind of blues, deeply rooted in Chicago blues with some influence coming from other blues styles like North Mississippi Hill County blues or deep Louisiana swamp blues.

The group was founded in 2009 and since that moment they have devoted themselves to carry their blues all over their country, a style they perform respecting the tradition, but at the same time giving to their songs an original and different vision without forgetting the standard canons.

This time they present nine own compositions that will immerse listeners in a wrapping but, at the same time, country atmosphere they communicate thanks to a restrained, honest and effective instrumentation, looking to convince most listeners and drive them to a journey along those beautiful wild landscapes, full of dense forests and green juicy meadows.

The group includes Pentti Hänninen on guitars, Matti Järvi on vocals and bass, Jussi Raatikka on harmonica and Jari Korpimäki on drums, all them well known musicians at Finnish blues scene. In short words, no tricky but real blues coming from a band which deserves to be known and appreciated in European blues scene.
