To talk about Flaco Barral is to talk about one of the most interesting and suggestive musicians and multi-instrumentalists of Spanish scene who, unfortunately, neither the public nor specialized media have given the recognition, value and importance he deserves For about forty years Jorge Flaco Barral has been active in music business, so he is an experienced, battle-hardened artist He was one of the blues pioneers in his native Uruguay In 1972 he recorded in Buenos Aires for a Uruguayan company called Delaplanta the LP ‘Days Of Blues’ with a cover design based on Beatles album cover ‘Revolver’, when practically anybody knew about blues there, except legendary Pappo It was relevant his contribution to different Spanish bands like Azahar, Hilario Camacho or Azabache that left a deep mark on 70’s and 80’s scene and also among those minority underground music fans with tastes that moved into psychedelic rock, flamenco rock or Argentine rock Old songs like Mis Pies Pisan La Roca Mi Cabeza Sobre Nubes Va Faltando, La Casa Del Pozo, Soledad y Silencio Viaje a Marruecos… had a huge aesthetic poetical display, where Flaco played acoustic with a clever inspiration With this album he has recorded under his own name, Barral proves his quality as composer with a collection of thirteen songs that move between a story teller musician, blues and folk, he crumbles into urban poetry pieces In short words, I am sure Flaco Barral’s new work will give listeners a pleasant good taste
