Argentina is not only tango, football or roasted meat. It is also a big rooster of blues bands and musicians, many of them formed around the legendary Blues Special Club in Buenos Aires. Here in Barcelona, we know well some of them and now in France they are lucky to count with such a remarkable singer and guitarist as Federico Verteramo.

Federico came up to the French scene in 2007 and immediately started to play in various local bands, as well as backing American bluesmen who came to play in France such as Tail Dragger, Rip Lee Pryor, Dave Riley, Bob Stroger or Lurrie Bell among others, and he even was invited to participate in some of their albums.

In 2013 he formed his own band. He has released three full-length albums and four EP’s up to date. This is his fourth one that includes eight own compositions, plus three beautiful covers “Look Whatcha Done” coming from Magic Sam, “You Can’t Get That Stuff No More” by Tampa Red and “The Same Thing Could Happen To You” by Lazy Lester. All songs are developed with passion and conviction rounding up an interesting pleasing recording by a bunch of musicians who know and love blues.

Federico Verteramo on guitar and vocals, is backed by Anita Fabiani on piano, Abdell B Bop on double bass and Eric Petznick on drums, plus the special collaboration of Victor Puertas on harmonica and vocals, Sylvain Tejerizo on saxos and Nico Duportal on guitar.

A more than interesting album that deserves to be calmly savored and attentively enjoyed.
