Here comes a musician who was born and raised in Louisiana, son of a preacher called Othineil Bridges During his whole life, this blues and gospel singer and guitarist has been in different gospel and blues groups, which becomes evident in this new work Eugene Hideaway Bridges has come back to the recording studios to delight us with his musical art and his always intense very lively vocal abilities He gathers varied and very clear influences in his songs, from B B King to Sam Cook, T-Bone Walker and sixties soul, except the first cd track, a gospel tune in the pure tradition of the Church of Christ, a branch of Baptist Church Eugene Hideaway Bridges is on guitar, bass and vocals and he is backed by Pat Manske drums, box drum, maracas and percussion, Lloyd Maines pedal steel and David Webb piano, wurlitzer and Hammond B-3 A relaxing album, which becomes interesting from various points of view, both musically as in song lyrics, which talk about life, travels, lost loves…
