With their music and songs, Erin Harpe & The Delta Swingers bring to mind the atmosphere of those old juke joint where whisky, gin and other liquors flooded in and people only wanted to drink, dance and forget their daily problems But the band hallmark comes from the fact that, although they remain faithful to the origins, they also give a new dimension to music, based on soul, funk and reggae rhythms, which gives them a wide chromatic range of beautiful sounds together with a high quality level, that faithfully reflect their passion and knowledge of the music they play Singer and band leader Erin Harpe learned all blues secrets and stylistic resources from her father, bluesman Neil Harpe, she played with in the early years of her musical career After flirting for some time with pop and funk electronic, in 2010 Erin decided to completely devote to blues, and she founded her own band, The Delta Swingers The album includes four original songs, together with excellent versions coming from Willie Brown, Lucille Bogan, Geeshie Wiley, William Moore and John Prine Besides Erin Harpe on vocals, Jim Countryman on bass, Bob Nisi on drums and Richard Rosenblatt (VizzTone label president) on harmonica, the cd also has the valuable collaboration of Dave Gross and Bob Margolin on guitars
