Singer and guitar player Erin Harpe and her band The Delta Swingers present their second album that does not intend to be innovative, but extremely varied in design and final production terms The repertoire skilfully mixes different styles like Piedmont blues, acoustic Delta blues or electric boogie blues, together with some drops of funk and soul Since the release in 2014 of her first album Love Whip Blues, she has not stopped to tour all around USA All the experience she has gathered during these three intense years can be found in this second tem songs recording, with four own compositions and six versions coming from Mississippi Fred McDowell, Tommy Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Slim Harpo or Randy Newman, she plays giving them her own personality, thanks to some original arrangements She also appears as a more than convincing singer, with a firm well settled voice and a rich full of nuances tone She is also an effective intuitive guitar player, with a clean precise phrasing, feeling comfortable in both fingerpickin’ and slide techniques or even with wah-wah and other pedals Besides Erin Harpe on vocals and guitars, you will also find Jim Countryman on bass and ukulele, Matt Charles Prozialeck on electric and acoustic harmonicas, Kendall Divoll on drums and Michael Casavant on organ in a couple of tracks and accordion in one song too In short words, this is an excellent highly recommendable album
