Erin Harpe is certainly one of the most suggestive female voices of actual acoustic country blues scene, as she performs with reliability and passion styles like Delta and Piedmont blues Her guitar technique is fine and brilliant, so she always thrills the audience with her amazing voice and guitar playing, not only when she performs slide guitar but also when she delivers folk, gospel or Zydeco music, although blues is her most loved music style The album gathers ten tasteful songs, four Erin’s own compositions, plus the beautiful versions of songs coming from those twenties and thirties amazing singers like Sippie Wallace’s Woman Be Wise, Lucille Bogan’s I Hate That Train Called, Memphis Minnie’s What’s The Matter With The Mill and Geesihe Wiley’s Pick Poor Robin Clean and two traditional songs Rollin’ & Tumblin’ and When I Lay My Burden Down Erin was recently awarded in Massachussets with the New England Awards as Blues Artist Of The Year After working with her band Erin Harpe & The Delta Swingers, now she comes with a solo album, where she is backed by her husband Jim Countryman on ukulele bass and vocals A clever winning bet of Vizztone Records and Richard Rosenblatt which, once again, hit the target in their artist choice
