Born in Louisiana, singer and guitar player Eric Johanson now lives in New Orleans Putting the guitar in the center of his music, Johanson develops a style inspired in blues, Americana roots music or roadhouse rock ‘n’ roll, with fast solos and rhythms that, sometimes, suggest us Louisiana’s bayous swamp music or Crescent City’s restless nightlife When he was only ten years old Eric already composed songs and melodies and when he just graduated from high school, he caught Tab Benoit’s attention who became his mentor and hired him as his regular guitar player for his own label Whiskey Bayou Records In fact Tab Benoit was the one who produced and played drums in Eric’s debut album Later on, Eric also worked on Cyril Neville’s and Terrance Simien’s bands Twelve songs give shape to this straight album where one can immediately savor the aggressive, rough, dynamic and powerful style of a singer and guitarist with a remarkable personality and a big potential to give to audiences, both in present times and the most immediate future
