Emilio was born in Brownsville, Texas and in 1967 began his musical career playing bass. By the time he left for California in 1978, he already was a veteran of the Texas music scene, having toured the state extensively. In 1989, he changed from bass to guitar and began fronting his own band, “The Texas Manglers”. He became a regular musician in San Francisco area bars, clubs, festivals, and other venues. For this cd he has picked an experienced cast of musicians whose credits as sidemen include John Lee Hooker, Coco Montoya, Robben Ford and Johnny Nocturne. Crixell has shared stage with great artists such as Doug Sahm, C.J. Chenier, Delbert McClinton, Chris Duarte and many others. The cd, recorded under his own name, brings us ten effective rolling tracks with flaming blues and electrifying riffs.
