If two accomplished blues foxes like guitar player and singer Elvin Bishop and singer and harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite decide to join forces to release an album, obviously the result is nothing than a faultless recording of excellent passionate blues Although they knew each other for quite a long time, they had never recorded together, until Bishop invited Musselwhite to play in the song 100 Years Of Blues, a song belonging to his album Big Fun Trio, that is now included and gives title to this album The understanding, chemistry and sense of humor both shared during that song recording gave them the idea to play together In 2019 they did a series of shows together with piano and guitar player Bob Welsh, who also performs in this album The audience response was really amazing, so became evident they should release an album they finally did for Alligator Records Now you can savor twelve songs of the most traditional and real blues you can imagine Inspired by front porch and southern down-home blues, the album gathers nine own compositions together with impressive versions of West Helena Blues, coming from Roosevelt Sykes, Midnight Hour Blues by Leroy Carr and Help Me by Sonny Boy Williamson This is a not to be missed album if you are a real lover of the most genuine traditional old-school blues
