New album of one of the last living representatives of 50’s old south side Chicago blues As his name says, Elmore James Jr is the son of the greatest Elmore James and in his music he gathers his father legacy Jr brings sixteen splendid songs he plays with slide tuned in his favorite position, open D, he has been using in the past fifty years Really amazing, isn’t it? Most of the songs are his own ones, although he also includes some blues coming from his father and some others from piano player Eddie Boyd and Jimmy Rogers Displayed and presented with a superb performing, Elmore James Jr & His Broodmasters give us a genuine real show of fluent classic Chicago blues Slide solos rise up our spirits and shake the soul of every blues lover, all served with the superb guitar of Illinois Slim, the great contribution of Eddie Taylor Jr, and especially Edward C Williams on saxo, who gives the best of himself and rounds up a terrific musicians line-up with D ‘Duke’ Haramdas keyboards, Jim Di Spirito drums and Carl Norington bass
