    Valoración: VERY GOOD

Twelve new own songs by this prolific singer and sax player called Elliot Chavers, a musician who came from Texas and, in 1950, travelled to Los Angeles to explore and discover California jazz scene around different clubs that were in fashion and popular at that time. Chavers flirts with funky, jazz and r&b along the cd with an extreme good taste. The result is a cd full of swingin’ rhythm and catching joy, Chavers plays alto, soprano and tenor sax efficiently backed by two keyboards players, Otis Hayes and Art Hillery, plus Wendell Williams on bass, Clarence Jhonston and Mickey Conway on drums and James Clark on guitar. All them show good instrumental technique and give a warm enjoyable sound with the old mature flavour of forties and fifties Califonia bands.
