Like a contemporary blues shaman, full of magic, mystery and unexpected surprises, sounds the music included in this Eddie Turner’s new work. After his last album “Turner Diaries”, also recorded for NorthernBlues label and published in 2006, this great songwriter and excellent lyrics writer, surprises us with thirteen new and original cuts, in the path of his previous ones, that is to say, amazing riffs, hypnotic guitar chords and insistent rhythms, based on deep expressive intimist melodies and, why not, quite depressing ones, in the widest sense of that word. His concept of blues includes traces of funk, groove, dirty swamp blues, punk and psychodelia, something unusual to find in these days. This gives him an enormous originality and a new musical perspective, very different from most currently bands and musicians devoted to perform Afroamerican roots music have done till now.
