Born in London, singer and multi-instrumentalist Eddie Martin showed from his teens a natural ability to compose and perform songs, which led him to collaborate with Bob Dylan. It wasn’t until he discovered Freddie King and Robert Johnson that he decided to immerse himself into Afroamerican music. Since then on Eddie has developed a long varied career not only as a solo artist but also with his power-rock trio, which has allowed him to learn the instrumental techniques of the most traditional blues but also to investigate new ways and sounds. This album has been recorded solo in his home studio playing all the instruments like slide guitar, lap steel, electric and acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, foot percussion, accordion and keyboards, only backed by his son Xavi on cello in three songs. The album is a foray into blues and folk, styles where Eddie feels very comfortable and shows his deep knowledge, but you will also see his instrumental technique and good taste in the arrangements development. Twelve songs plus two ‘bonus tracks’ which drive us to the refreshing sound of Appalachian mountains and countryside.
