Here come two great albums by a musician, composer and lyricist, who describes his feelings, beliefs and emotions on a bright intimistic way, with the blues as the main expression This becomes especially evident in Folk & Blues, an album built according with his musical abilities along twelve compositions, where he combines three instrumentals with some sung songs You will immediately realize Eddie captures the magic, the essence and vitality of the most genuine varied folk-blues, only a man born for music can give us with the real spontaneous sincere feelings of this musical genre Martin plays all instruments and his son is the sound engineer You will not find any studio effects, there were not even used overdubs, in other words, the album was recorded live, without repeating any part of the songs In Looking Forward Looking Back things are different, because Eddie Martin shows us the other side of the blues, backed by a bunch of able musicians who actively participate in the project, and get an amazing sound The music is hundred per cent British blues, with good structured horn arrangements and lots of groove, which gives a lively cool sound Fourteen songs where Eddie Martin sings and plays guitars, harmonica, and piano, Pee Wee Ellis is on tenor sax, John Paul Gard organ, Richard Laws drums, plus The Little Big Horn Band dealing with horns Two highly recommended albums I am sure you will love, especially if you enjoy Elmore James and T-Bone Walker, as they are musical influences of both artists among many others too
