SInger and guitarist Eddie Cotton gives us a solid, straight and unaffected album Since the first song, a blues in minor key entitled Here I Come, we can immediately realize the album will be a pure delight for our senses As songs go on, it becomes evident that our first impression is true Eddie’s music is deeply rooted in the most genuine blues, with influences that come from Buddy Guy or Albert King, together with the most traditional gospel that is sung every Sunday in southern Mississippi various Baptist, Methodist or Anglican churches In this third album Cotton has included ten mostly original songs He is backed by Myron Bennett bass and Samuel Scott Jr drums, together with some other guest musicians like harmonica players Grady Champion and Charles Russell and organist Sam Brady Eddie Cotton is a very dramatic and passionate musician gifted with a clear glossy voice in the path of soul singers He also is an excellent leader of new blues with a funky catching beat, perfect for the twenty-first century music In short words, he is a very interesting artist who shows great passion, enormous commitment and big love for the music he plays
