It is not common for a duo to include a bass player and a drummer This is the case of Dry Johnson, a duo with bass player Terry Dry and drummer Matthew Robert Johnson who usually are guitar player Mike Zito’s rhythm section One night at the end of one Zito’s show, they thought about the idea of this duo, in a project that would include various artists they had worked in the past or they would like to work in the future This was the way Dry Johnson duo was born They now present this album where they have counted with the collaboration of Mike Zito on guitar and voice, Annika Chambers and Trudy Lynn as vocalists, guitar players John Del Toro Richardson, Mighty Orq and James Wilhite, harmonica player Steve Krase and singer Kevin Snit Fitzpatrick The album includes a good dose of excellent Texas school blues, together with some Chicago and a bit of West Coast too All this makes as a result a well performed album with a perfectly teamed exquisite rhythm section, able to give the perfect support to the rest of musicians The production is the best one you could find for the style the musicians perform, giving as a result a straight powerful sound In short words, we are facing a perfectly built album, displayed with force and an undeniable quality The result is more than remarkable
