If you keep your dreams and wishes strong, one day they become true. This is what has happened to Douglas Avery who has experienced that his dream of becoming a blues musician has come true.

During the sixties Douglas was immersed into Los Angeles and West Coast musical explosion. There he met musicians like Johnny Otis or B.B. King, establishing a deep friendship with The Doors fellows and, at the same time, he founded his first band. His passion for surfing and photography made him acquire a great notoriety as a photographer, becoming of the most internationally requested and renowned photographers in the fields of sport and fashion.

Musically inspired by Paul Butterfield, Alan Wilson or Magic Dick, Douglas Avery started his first steps as harmonica player and was invited to countless jams with the Doors and Robbie Krieger. He was also booked by the group to play in many of their live concerts.

Thanks R.J. Mischo, he now publishes his first album with twelve songs where he has counted with the participation of such great musicians like Carl Sonny Leyland on piano, Franck Goldwasser on guitar, Ralph Carter on bass and organ in one song, Johnny Morgan on drums and a horn section with Aaron Liddard on sax, Jerome Harper on trombone and Simon Finch on trumpet.

Eleven own songs and three versions perfectly combine, all them with the distinctive hallmark of West Coast blues, the most traditional roots blues and, of course, the most actual blues.
