Doug MacLeod has a long and wide career in the show business world, because he is an old hand in this field He has published nineteen records up to date and, with this last one, he has round off the nice number of twenty This is the third he has recorded for Reference Recordings, where he has included the most genuine and original acoustic music When he plays in live shows, his songs never have the same sound and the same happens in his recordings, because he plays what he feels in that particular moment, so every cut is a new reinterpretation of his own songs or covers The album gathers eleven own compositions where Doug pays tribute and homage to some of the artists who have mostly influenced him such as Mississippi John Hurt, Reverend Gary Davis, Mississippi Fred McDowell, West Montgomery, Duke Ellington, Tony Joe White, John Lee Hooker among other ones Besides a singer and storyteller, MacLeod is an excellent composer and some of his songs have been performed by artists like Albert King, Albert Collins, Joe Louis Walker or Eva Cassidy This is an album to be calmly savoured
