From the middle of the seventies, Doug Jay is on the blues and rock & roll scene His home is the road and clubs, bars and juke-joints are his musical school and the right places to contact and share experiences with other people Besides touring with his Blue Jays, he has also worked with Bob Margolin and Alex Schulz among others, sharing stage with Muddy Waters, BB King, Bobby Blue Bland, John Hammond, Sunnyland Slim and even Bruce Springsteen This new work, recorded for Crosscut Records, comes after two years of silence Doug Jay and his band give us a cd full of different melodies and rich nuances, based on blues and roots Americana music, with the particular original sound Doug tastefully gives to every recording he does An excellent dish perfectly cooked with a savoury mixture of r&b, r&r and fifties and sixties vintage blues The result is Under The Radar where you will find Doug Jay on vocals and harp, ‘Jimy’ Reiter on guitar, Jasper Mortier on bass and acoustic bass and Andre Werkmeister on drums, plus some exceptional guest musicians like Sax Gordon Beadle o Christian Rannenberg among others
