Yes, you are right, he is Dennis Gruenling himself Doug Deming is an excellent singer and guitar player in the path of T-Bone Walker and Charlie Christian, with other influences coming from Robert Lockwood Jr and Luther Tucker Deming spent several years performing on Detroit local scene, where he forged and polished as blues guitarist, mostly playing in city bars and other slums Later on, he joined the bands of Lazy Lester, Gary Primich, AC Reed, Alberta Adams, ‘the queen of the Detroit blues’, or Kim Wilson’s Fabulous Thunderbirds In this cd Mr Deming displays his amazing talent, both on guitar and voice but especially as a song-writer Doug Deming & The Jewel Tones show a remarkable credibility, they have a great sound, they believe in what they do and communicate their blues with great strength, amazing swing and enormous conviction
