A perfect combination of swing, jazz, ballads, forties and fifties classic blues, in the path of Big Maybelle or Little Esther Phillips, performed with an extreme good taste, class and elegance by one of the white female voices which keep faithfully close to the old tradition Donna Green gives us a section of twelve songs, which surprise us for their quality, not only vocally speaking, as they are full of rich expressive nuances, but also because she is backed by first class musicians All songs included are really delightful, performed with a combination of a versatile cool softness The horn section sounds amazing on the tracks it has been included, together with unbelievable vocal harmonies where Donna’s voice is half way between Billy Holiday and Etta James You will find an eclectic repertoire with a foray into Ray Charles and Johnny Otis among others A perfect cd for fans of the music played by those fifties swing and rhythm & blues orchestras with the amazing voice of Miss Donna Green standing out
