Here comes a French blues trio which is deeply influenced by Louisiana music, from swamp blues to the music you can listen to in cities like Baton Rouge and especially by those 50’s and 60’s Excello vintage legendary recordings, but their influences can also be found in artists like Lightnin’ Slim, Slim Harpo Phillip Walker, Lazy Lester or Raful Neal. The trio includes Doc Lou on vocals, harmonica and acoustic guitar in three of the ten album songs, Jeff Hug on electric and slide guitars and acoustic guitar on six tracks and Michel Gerónimo on drums, percussion and backing vocals. Sound engineer and recording manager also Eric Payan plays organ in one song. All cuts are Doc Lou’s own compositions and follow the real sound patterns of the most genuine Louisiana blues. The three musicians approach their repertoire with reliability and clever ideas and deliver it with the real raw dirty and downhome sound of the blues that is played in that area. This is a recording that communicates a good dose of the feeling you can find along the wild rough swamp landscapes of the south of Louisiana, a place where Natchez Indians came from many, many years ago.
