Derrick Procell worked as a composer for other artists together with Terry Abrahamson and both formed a good tandem Derrick never had thought to devote himself to music but, when most of the musicians that performed the songs he wrote for them realized his creative skills, they encouraged him to take a step forward, as his songs deserved to be played by Derrick himself instead becoming hits performed by other musicians The true thing is Derrick threw himself into this new facet with energy and commitment So now he appears as a passionate and delivered singer, as well as a seasoned pianist and harmonica player This album includes twelve faultless versions of his own songs especially arranged in collaboration with his great friend and colleague Terry Abrahamson Procell is backed by his band, The Parchman Farm, plus the valuable collaboration of Billy Branch, Bob Margolin or Eddie Shaw as deluxe guests This recording certifies the arrival of a new artist to the blues scene, who appears with force and claims for a prominent place in the blues world
