The Delta Wires started about thirty years ago as a project entitled “Anthology Of Blues Music” that Ernie Pinata presented as an undergraduate credit at The California College Of Arts And Crafts in Oakland. The program of this project covered the migration of music from the Mississippi Delta to Chicago, starting with artists like Charley Patton, Robert Johnson or Son House to end with the music that was recorded in Chess Records in Chicago by Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Bo Diddley or Howlin’ Wolf.

Singer and harmonica player Ernie Pinata decided to follow on with the project on a professional way and, since that moment, the band has not stopped to perform and musically grow. They have been booked in practically all blues festivals and have done tours around USA and Europe.

Over the years the band has undergone several changes and now it includes eight musicians, Ernie Pinata on vocals and harmonica, Richard Healy on guitar, Tom Gerrits on bass, Tony Huszar on drums, Richard Sylvester on keyboards, David Bowman on trombone, John Christensen on trumpet and Caleb Murray on sax.

Ten magnificent songs displayed with an amazing skill and cleverness by the whole band, which successfully and tastefully combine the most contemporary blues with the real traditional one on a recording that faithfully communicates all the strength, color, liveliness and impressive feeling the group gives off in their live shows.
