For more than two decades, singer, guitar player and songwriter Debbie Bond has performed all over Alabama, sharing stage with traditional artists like Johnny Shines, Eddie Kirkland, Willie King, Little Jimmy Reed or Shar Baby. Influenced by Alabama rural blues sound, in 2020 she began a new project with her husband keyboard and harmonica player ‘Radiator’ Rick Asherson and British drummer Mickey Barker. Despite the pandemic, they decided to record this album in five different studios, also featuring vocalist Lea Gilmore, Jamaican sax player Ray Carless, also sax player Brad Guin, member of the Muscle Shoals Studios Horn Section, percussion players Joelle Barker and Dave Crenshaw and the backing vocals of Meshon Omoregie, Gabrielle Semoine, Carla Don and Rachell Edwards. All of them did their part of the recording from the places where they live, managing to assemble ten songs that give shape and content to the album. You will find a versatile mixture of blues, Americana and ballads, able to enliven the body and spirit of anyone who wants to go through her repertoire. Gradually Debbie has managed to reach a place among blues fans, and she has also received different awards like the Coming Up Workshop Award for her educational work, as well as entering into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
