After about five years of silence due to her maternity, Deb Callahan has just come back to the recording studios to give her fifth album to all her followers and general audience The spirit of blues, soul and roots music overfly along the whole cd, performed with an amazing funky, rockin’ rhythm and a huge sense of humour In fact Deb explores topics like love and family, two of the most important aspects of both her life and music, and she does it from an honest and sometimes funny point of view, which include her experiences of sharing her life with a small child and her partner, the happiness of family life, the unconscious anxiety about leaving home to play several nights a week or how to combine work and family Her voice has often been compared with Susan Tedeschi because her tone and vibrato have many things in common Deb Callahan is a true shouter and, at the same time, a delicious crooner when she attacks ballads Perfectly backed by some able and loyal musicians, once again Dev consolidates herself as a self assured singer and a well established musician
