Contemporary blues and soul lovers will feel lucky with the release of this new album by Philadelphia singer and songwriter Deb Callahan.

This is her sixth recording and, like in her previous ones, Deb presents herself as a sophisticated singer who combines in equal parts an aggressive singing with an appealing sensuality and sweetness, developing a forceful style, sometimes relaxed and intimate sometimes showing her wildest side, together with lyrics which always have a deep meaning.

The album gathers twelve songs that successfully combine blues and soul with some drops of rock roots and swing music, eight of them Deb Callahan’s own compositions, plus the versions of “Danger Zone” coming from Percy Mayfield and “Anytime You Want” by Elvis Costello. In all songs Callahan appears as a true diva, leading a group of musicians who put all their knowledge and skills to Callahan’s service, which makes as a result an attractive, well-developed recording full of interesting moments.

Chris Arms has been in charge of the whole production and he also plays slide in two songs. He has managed to crystallize a compact, wrapping and totally effective sound.
