Settled In Canada, David Vest is a real creative force at piano, specialized in blues, rock ‘n’ roll and boogie woogie, as well as a good blues shouter and a remarkable entertainer on stage Born in Alabama in 1943, he had the chance to share stage with Roy Orbison, Ace Cannon, Bill Black, Jimmy Dorsey or Big Joe Turner, one of his most admired musicians This album was recorded in Vancouver where all musicians involved played altogether with few overdubs or retakes For this project David counted with his old friend Peter Dammann and Tom Bowler on guitars, Ryan Tandy on bass and Billy Hicks on drums, who wrapped with commitment, taste and credit David Vest’s piano and vocals Walking along the ten own songs included in this album, David invites us to a journey to rockin’ New Orleans, vintage blues or inspired and wild boogie-woogie, as well as to other similar styles, performed with joyful passion and wild energy by all the participants in this interesting project
