Like many other young people of his generation, David Lumsden was caught and crazy about the ‘British blues rock’ invasion coming from names like The Yardbirds, John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac or Led Zeppelin. Reading about the songs those musicians used to play, he discovered Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, Big Bill Broonzy or John Lee Hooker. However, it was not until he listened to Freddie King when he decided to completely devote himself to play blues. From 2011 to 2017 David has been guitar player in the band of powerful singer Hurricane Ruth and, since 2018, he leads his own group and project.

This is his second solo recording where he includes seven versions coming from artists like Eddie Clearwater, Leiber & Stoller, Memphis Slim or Bob Dylan, plus three own compositions. In all songs our man cleverly and tastefully combines rock and roll, blues, soul, some pop music and even country rock.

Besides Lumsden’s guitar and vocals, the rest of the musicians who have contributed with their knowledge and good work are Tim Bahn on keyboards, Gary Davis on bass and Jim Engel on drums. You will also find some guest musicians in the recording. After studying and practicing the sounds of his guitar for years, here comes a truly appetizing very well produced recording you will really appreciate.
