David Honeyboy Edwards was one of the great bluesmen deeply rooted in Delta blues tradition He was active in music almost until the day he died aged ninety-six and during his long life he played with most of blues legends like Robert Johnson, Sonny Boy Williamson I and II, Sunnyland Slim, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Walter Horton and many others In year 2010 he received a Grammy award and that same year he played at the G Spot in Los Angeles backed by Jeff Dale & The South Woodlawners and his manager during his last years and owner of Earwig label, Michael Frank who played harmonica That live show was the last one where Honeyboy Edwards was recorded and now it has been published in CD and DVD format In these recordings you can feel the strength and passion a ninety-five years genuine bluesman plays the blues and he does it with the joy and vitality of those musicians who have intensely lived the blues Fortunately, that time the camera did not stop filming at the end of the show, so we have the great opportunity to see Edwards relaxed after the gig, giving advice to other musicians and explaining them interesting stories like the death of Robert Johnson, as well as juicy anecdotes of bluesmen like Charley Patton or Big Walter Horton
