After recording his last album Soul Changes in Memphis together with Al Green’s band, an album which was nominated for the Blues Music Awards, now singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave Keller brings us his most recent work, recorded in Vermont and backed by his faithful band members with Brett Hoffman on drums, Gary Lotspeich on bass and Anger Friedman on piano and organ, besides counting with the valuable collaboration of The Mo’ Sax Horns, a string section including viola, violin and cello in three cuts and a pair of beautiful sexy voices as backing vocals The recording gathers eleven original songs that show Keller’s wide creativity and a dark version of a soul song entitled It’s Time You Made Up Your Mind In all songs one can immediately realize the influences Keller has received since he was a young man, that come from Ronnie Earl to Mighty Sam McClain, Robert Ward or Wilson Pickett With this album Dave Keller has definitively become one of the best and most exciting soul blues artists of his generation The recording has an elegant and very careful production, which becomes a plus to get a copy
