Settled for a long time in Canada and winner of several blues awards, Dave Hurricane Hoerl brings us an inspired varied album, rooted in the most genuine blues tradition with some groovy details too Dave sings and plays both chromatic and diatonic harmonica showing he is an accomplished performer He also has a charismatic and elegant phrasing with a deep fat tone and a powerful swing, which always calls the attention of the audience Born in San Francisco, Hoerl made Vancouver his home more than thirty years ago He was also founder of the legendary Canadian jump blues band The Twisters This album is the first one he has done under his own name and surely it will not be the last one, because he gets the most of his amazing potential together with an outstanding quality Dave has surrounded himself with a bunch of very interesting and professional musicians, all members of his band Hurricane And The Hooligans Most of the songs lyrics of the eleven songs talk about topics like tragedy or bad luck, but he also includes more trivial subjects like baseball
