A self produced cd by singer and guitar player Dani Fernández who, despite he apparently lives in the same region I live, I have not heard about him. Dani is an Eric Clapton’s big fan which becomes evident if you see the album chosen repertoire, with songs like “Further Up On The Road”, “Blues Before Sunrise”, “Alberta”, “‘Ramblin On My Mind”, “Crossroads”, etc. Dani Fernández Trio are Dani on guitar and vocals, Rocky Reynaldo bass and Pep Miracle drums. I will simply copy what his bass player Rocky Reynaldo writes about Dani Fernandez in the cd cover, in order you can take your own conclusions. “Dani Fernández has spent so many years in the music business. He knows by heart everything that has happened in the music world from the sixties and if you ‘scratch’ a Little bit, blues immediately comes out. The best Eric Clapton of all times is his mentor, and now he has decided to do what easily comes outside of him, surrounded by good friends to record in two memorable sessions, 20 standards. With his permission, I have chosen the fourteen ones I have felt more comfortable, and here they are.” I can only say these words tell everything.
