Don Logan is one of the most interesting well known music celebrities of Shrevenport and Louisiana areas. He has deeply contributed to develop and spread popular music (blues, r&b, rock and roll, country and western, cajun, etc). Since the fifties he has also been an admired and reputed dj. Among the hundreds of musical stars he has interviewed on his show, only mention historical people like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Jerry Lee Lewis, Rolling Stones or The Beatles. The first two cds are Don’s own recordings for Cal Discs independent label and give us Logan’s image as song writer, producer and singer, deeply rooted into fifties traditional music, specially rockabilly and country music with different influences of artists like Perry Como, Tony Bennett and specially Roy Orbison. Both cds “Mister Stan” and “Ding-A-Ling Swing” give us the impressive deep ‘crooner’ Logan’s convincing tasteful voice along the forty four songs included on them. The third cd “Fish Head” brings us Don’s singing together with some other vocalists of that area, such as Liam Large, Timothy Ginn, Ellen Stutz and Dj Jelly Soller on a most festive album closer to popular dancing music such as waltz and zydeco. Genuine Louisiana music to enjoy with.
