After the success Treanor got with his previous cd recorded for Northern Blues, he comes back again with his band plus Rex Peoples as singer. In this new cd Treanor suggests us a trip along different musical cultures. He plays blues but he also goes up into world music, doo-woop, Celtic music, soul, rhythm and blues and specially African music tradition on different grooves with a special accent on music that comes from Ghana. As you could easily imagine ‘Mercy’ is, over all, en eclectic record, with a particular vision of blues music and a significant multiracial bright colourful atmosphere. A quite different cd we are used to listen to that shall be heard slowly and calmly to appreciate and understand it.
