Although Dan McKinnon says his deepest and bigger influences come from BB King, Muddy Waters or Bobby Bland, this album confirms we are facing one of those young new values who appear under the umbrella of the most powerful contemporary blues-rock, a kind of music that has undoubtedly forged the way to express himself with his voice, his guitar and his own compositions Recorded ‘live’ at Toronto’s Canterbury Music Company, with no overdubs except in a song, the album makes us discover Dan McKinnon and his band doing what they most like, to play the music they feel with intensity and commitment The recording gathers a collection of ten songs, three own compositions and some versions where they combine actual rock-blues with some elements of artists like Albert King, Junior Kimbrough and The White Stripes Besides Dan McKinnon on guitar and vocals, the other two musicians are Peter Eratostene on bass and Michael Carbone on drums Together they form a strong, straight able trio, with new ideas to share and, in this way, contribute to develop the market of Canadian young values which goal is to make rock-blues available to anyone interested in discovering the new generation of blues musicians coming from Canada
