Although his roots come from the southwestern deserts of New Mexico, CW Ayon’s music is deeply influenced by blues and especially by Mississippi Hill Country blues His voice, his acoustic guitar, his resonator and, sometimes, some harmonica touches, build up a repertoire where you will immediately find influences coming from RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Robert Belfour, John Lee Hooker and the early Muddy Waters, among others The release includes twelve songs where Ayon is backed by Felipe Toltecatl on upright bass Together, they manage to create the most suitable atmosphere to get the music they produce catch our ears with a wrapping hypnotism, driving you to a universe of suggestive feelings and immerse listeners in a variety of different paths Despite its apparent simplicity, this album is full of a delicious tasty substance, perfect to anyone who dares give a chance to this musician who surely will pleasantly surprise you
