We have just got the first work of an Andalusian duo with Miguel Jiménez on guitar and Rafa Colmenarejo on vocals and percussion, plus the special collaboration of legendary harmonica player Manuel De Arcos, one of the blues pioneers in the south of Spain who, together with Alex Guitar, was member of the those well known Algeciras Blues Express The album gathers fourteen traditional songs belonging to the Afroamerican roots music songbook, like Shake Sugaree coming from Elizabeth Cotten, Buckets Of Rain from Robert Dylan, Mississippi Blues from Willie Brown, Sunday Street from Dave Van Ronk or Pallet On Your Floor, one of my favourite songs, which was recorded for the first time in 1936 by singer Cooney Vaughn and, a year later, by the unique Merline Johnson The album comes on a digipack format and has been published by Stereo Música Fundamental It is a relaxing peaceful recording, full of calm and warm moments, where the three musicians have cleverly pulled out all the charm and pleasure of those old songs that, both blues and popular folk artists, created more than eighty years ago, these Spanish musicians have managed to perform with a cool sensitivity and good taste If you like Piedmont blues and American folk music, then this album has been for sure conceived specially for you, because it will give you the most peaceful and relaxing feelings
