Cotton Roots are a Barcelona duo with Johnny Pérez on acoustic guitar and voice and ‘Little’ Jordi Abad on harmonica and voice These recordings also feature guest artist Reginald Vilardell on drums and washboard All come from other electric blues bands, they combine with this project The purposa of this duo is to gather material dark old bluesmen and of all times, ranging from the thirties to forties, fifties or sixties Among the musicians they pay homage you will find tributes to Skip James, Guitar Slim, Arthur ‘Big Boy’ Crudup, Brownie McGhee, Sonny Terry, Elizabeth Cotten, Frankie Lee Sims, Little Walter, Robert Johnson or John Lee Sonny Boy Williamson they always play in acoustic blues format, performing them with pleasure, passion, honesty and respect all those bluesmen deserve It is a great pleasure to listen to them, not only for warm feeling, peace and commitment they give us every one of the fourteen songs included, but also because they do it very well
