To perform blues and rhythm and blues with conviction it is needed a good dose of skill, knowledge and love to the style one plays Veteran singer Al Corte puts his heart and soul in every song included in his repertoire, both in live shows and in the recorded tunes of his last album Seasoned Soul It is the talk of those who follow him that he once suffered from a hernia while he was singing on stage but he followed on as if nothing was happening Is this true or not, in this last work Al Corte shows an overflowing energy together with an unbelievable strength, as a way to communicate all the generosity and drive he is able to show with his throat According to his own words while he was recording the album, the inspiration and creativity continuously flowed, showing the magic that appeared along the twelve cuts included in the album and, in my opinion, this is completely true The cd does not have any bad single note on it, so the pleasure of listening to it all in one go is really exciting and delightful The album was recorded with no overdubs and other kind of studio technologies in order you may get the most real and spontaneous sound as possible This is a great piece of work that raises Al Corte to the place he really deserves, the top of the podium
