Since the moment and only aged five, he listened on the radio to Gatemouth Brown, Albert Collins and Albert King, Corey Dennison got totally caught by those three guitarists When he was six years old he had his first guitar and he decided he wanted to become a blues singer and guitar player, also encouraged by his uncle, who was an harmonica player, and often led him to see many bluesmen live shows Few years later Corey met Carl Weathersby and for twelve years he became his friend, godfather and mentor Together with Weathersby he learned all the secrets a Chicago blues guitarist should know to impress audiences, besides playing together with most of the greatest names of that time In 2013 Corey founded and led his own band His association with Gerry Hundt has done as a result a handful of intense and passionate songs which are now presented in his debut album recorded for Delmark label where, besides Corey Dennison on vocals and guitar and Gerry Hundt on guitar and organ, you will also find Nik Skilnik on bass and Joel Baer on drums To all those people who love new Chicago blues with the special touch of soul, disco and funk music without forgetting the roots, then this album will exceed all their expectations
