Just mention his mentors were John Mayall and Albert Collins, who once told him “Just play what you feel, be real about it, and enjoy yourself” and this is what Montoya has done along his career, that has led him to get an immense popularity among contemporary blues lovers.

After working in Collins’ and Mayall’s bands, Coco Montoya started a fruitful solo career, recording her first album for Alligator label in 2000, becoming one of the most outstanding artists of its catalog.

Produced by Grammy awarded Tony Braunagel (Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal), the album features thirteen impressive songs, five co-written by Montoya/Paris/Steen.
