Clayton Doley is an Australian well known organ and piano player He sings and plays original blues, gospel and soul During the past few years Mr Doley has done countless tours all over the world, both leading his own band and backing Canadian musician Harry Manx and Texas coming artists Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges, which allowed him to share stage with artists like Joe Bonamassa, Walter Wolfman Washington, Hubert Sumlin, Louisiana Red or Steve Cropper among many others This last album has been recorded in New Orleans and Sydney as well This is a warm relaxed album, where you even can breathe a certain air of sophistication Ypu will fin In the eight recorded songs New Orleans blues but also funky groove and a little bit of jazz, well supported by drums, bass and guitar, together with two restrained and elegant marching brass combos like The Treme Funktet and The Hi-Fi-Doley-T Horns, two big horn sections which communicate a lot of swing, soul, rhythm and blues and gospel in equal parts, and an efficient vocal group named The Clay-Tones All songs are Clayton’s own compositions, inspired by forties, fifties and sixties New Orleans great pianists All cuts provide a complete vision of Mr Doley’s singing good taste and his skills as musical director and arranger
