One of the greatest compliments a musician can receive is to be recognized by other contemporary musicians of his own generation. Singer, guitar player and songwriter Chris Cain is one of the most admired musicians among his colleagues as, besides his huge musical talent and performing technique and skills, he has managed to develop his own style, deeply inspired by his guitar heroes like B.B. King, Ray Charles, Albert King, Albert Collins, Grant Green or West Montgomery. That’s the reason Alligator Records in Chicago has noticed him and has recently included him in his excellent catalogue, just releasing his debut recording for them. It has been recorded at Kid Andersen’s renowned Greaseland Studios. The album includes twelve impressive own blues, with amazing doses of pure dancing energy and inspired funk rhythms, which faultless combine on a reliable varied repertoire to satisfy a wide audience. Chris Cain shows he is an excellent singer, as well as an electrifying hot guitar player, a tasteful songwriter and he also dares with keyboards on some of the album tracks as well as blowing the harmonica on a song. You will also find a line up with outstanding musicians like Greg Rahn on keyboards, Steve Evans on bass, Derrick “D’Mar” Martin and Sky Garcia on drums and the special collaboration of Kid Andersen on guitar and backing vocals, Michael Peloquin on tenor sax, Mike Rinta on trombone, Jeff Lewis on trumpet, Doug Rowan on baritone sax and Lisa Leuschner Andersen on backing vocals.
